Packing Check List Before we start with the list let’s go over a few points. Consider the size of your suitcase. If you want to “carry on” keep it small, many of the size regulations vary among airlines. Wheeled bags are great but consider the type of trip you’re taking; maybe a backpack style or a shoulder bag would work better. Ladies, purses should have sturdy shoulder straps, secure claps and zippered closures. I prefer leather when traveling overseas since it is a heavier material. Thieves have a harder time trying to open a zippered bag or slice through leather undetected. We often recommend money belts when traveling overseas which are worn under clothing and close to your skin.
